Dr. Drew Taylor, MSc, PhD
Co-founder and CEO of Acorn Biolabs, Dr. Taylor is an entrepreneur and pioneer in regenerative medicine with a unique background in both science and sport. He earned a BSc and MSc in Molecular Cell Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan, followed by a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, specializing in regenerative medicine and stem cell biology. Before founding Acorn in 2017, Drew was a member of Mount Sinai Hospital’s BioEngineering of Skeletal Tissues Team and served as Chief Science Officer at Epic Capital Management. He also spent three years in professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies before a shoulder injury ended his athletic career.
Drew’s vision for Acorn is to help people live not only longer, but better, by preserving their youngest, healthiest cells today for future personalized regenerative treatments. Under his leadership, Acorn has created the world’s first non-invasive follicle-based live cell collection and cryopreservation service, with applications in skin rejuvenation, hair regrowth, and beyond.
