What I’ve Learned About Hormones and Health – Exploring BHRT at 8 West Clinic

Hi Vivacity Community,
This week’s update is a personal one. One of the best parts of launching Vivacity is the opportunity to connect daily with experts in medical aesthetics, wellness, and healthy aging. Often, what I learn doesn’t just inform the show, it directly impacts my own life in meaningful ways.
If my personal journey mirrors the type of information and access people can find through Vivacity, then we’re doing something right.

Like many men in their late 40s, I began noticing changes I couldn’t ignore: brain fog, lower energy, disrupted sleep, increased body fat, and a sense that something was just… off. I assumed it was part of aging, but the more I spoke with experts, the more I wondered; could there be something else going on?

During a meeting with the team at 8 West Clinic, one of our Vivacity exhibitors and conveniently, our neighbors in North Vancouver, I shared how I’d been feeling. They suggested a comprehensive blood panel, and sure enough, my results showed clinically low testosterone and estrogen.

From there, the 8 West team walked me through my options, including testosterone therapy. After careful consideration, I chose BHRT pellet therapy; a long-acting, low-maintenance approach that some men use to support more stable hormone levels over time. It involves a quick in-office procedure every few months.
I’m now about two weeks in. While it’s still early, I feel clearer, more grounded, and, most importantly, optimistic. I’ve taken a step toward better understanding and supporting my health.
If you’ve been feeling “off” in ways that are hard to explain, it might be worth speaking with a qualified provider. For me, 8 West offered a thoughtful, science-based approach that helped me feel informed and supported.
